After reconstruction
１９３０(昭和５)年５月２２日、桜田門前に建設中の新庁舎を視察する警視庁の幹部たち。塔屋上部のドーム状の望楼部(高さ約１０メートル)は、宮城内がのぞかれるとした宮内省や都市美協会の要請で後に撤去された。望楼部の建設が途中まで進んでいたことを示す貴重な写真。（日本電報通信社撮影）

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) building is completed in front of the Sakuradamon Gate of the Imperial Palace on Aug. 19, 1931.
現在現在
２０１１(平成２３)年１２月、現在の警視庁。１９８０(昭和５５)年に竣工した。右奥に国会議事堂、左奥に霞が関・虎ノ門が見える。
