On Sept. 1, 1923 the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) building in Marunouchi district on fire.

火は左側の帝国劇場、東京会館に延焼した。警視庁庁舎の残骸は、２５日、陸軍工兵隊によって爆破された。（日本電報通信社撮影）

On Sept. 1, 1923, the fire spreads from the police building to Teikoku Theater and Tokyo Kaikan building on the left.

現在Today

２０１１（平成２３）年１２月、丸の内の馬場先濠に姿を映す(左から)東京會舘、帝国劇場、第一生命館。第一生命館は旧警視庁跡に１９３８（昭和13年）１１月３日竣工し、戦後は接収されＧＨＱ本部となった。警視庁は桜田門前に移転した。

Tokyo Kaikan building, Teikoku Theater and Dai-ichi Seimei building (from left to right) today. The Dai-ichi Seimei building was completed on the premises of the former police building on Nov. 3, 1938 and used as the headquarters of the Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers during the occupation of Japan.
